Durham Police are investigating two car break-ins from Friday night.
Around 8:15 p.m., police responded to the 1100 block of Lynn Road where at least five vehicles were broken into. One of the cars was reported stolen earlier that evening. Several hours later the car was found, unoccupied.

A few minutes later, around 8:30 p.m., a second break-in was reported on Muldee Street where police say approximately 11 cars were broken into.
Personal property was stolen from the cars, including cash and credit cards.
One person who was here and saw the aftermath of the thefts told WRAL News this all happened during a school play leaving people in the area shaken.
“It truly was a random attack,” a person who did not want to share their name told WRAL. “Different models from older to newer models were targeted, and people were kind of just disappointed.”
Earlier this week, Durham police investigated a series a break-ins at a Comfort Inn. It is unclear if the break-ins are connected to the ones on Lynn Road Friday night.
This is an open investigation. Police remind residents to park in well-lit areas, lock vehicles, and never leave valuables inside.
