A crash on U.S. Highway 70 in Johnston County left one person dead on Sunday night.
State troopers were called around 6:30 p.m. to the stretch of highway near Old Cornwallis Road.

Troopers said a pickup truck ran into the back of an SUV that was turning into a driveway on US-70 near Princeton. The driver of the SUV, Tracy Nichols, died on the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck, Linwood Beasley, was arrested. Beasley was charged with felony death by vehicle, reckless driving and carrying a concealed weapon. Troopers said alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
