Wake County Sheriff's deputies have arrested and charged a man following a stabbing near Wendell on Wednesday. 

Sy-Fee Nagi Murray Wilson, 23, was charged with attempted first-degree murder, deputies said.

Wake County deputies responded around 2:30 p.m. to reports of a stabbing in the 4200 block of Chandler Ridge Circle, near Raleigh.

When they arrived, a man was suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

This is the second stabbing to happen in Wake County in less than 24 hours. 

Deputies responded to a stabbing shortly after 10 a.m. on Old Mill Farm Drive.

Earnhart Joyner III was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill after stabbing the homeowner. 

“While two stabbings occurred today in Wake County, our investigation has determined they are not connected. Our deputies responded quickly and worked diligently to identify and locate the individuals responsible, and there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public,” Sheriff Willie Rowe said in a statement. “We want to reassure the residents of Wake County that we remain committed to keeping our neighborhoods safe and holding those responsible accountable.”

Deputies have not released the name of the man stabbed on Chandler Ridge Circle. 

The investigation is ongoing.
