A Wendell neighborhood is blocked off with crime scene tape after officers said multiple cars were broken in.
Wendell Police Department responded to calls of shots fired Tuesday morning. Upon arrival, officers learned that an unknown suspect fired a weapon that struck two houses. No one was injured.

Officers said the incident stemmed from a group of suspects who were breaking into a car.
The suspects fled after being startled by an "unknown source," according to officers. As the suspects were fleeing, one person shot the weapon.
Officers said at least five cars were broken into, but were unsure how many more there could be.
Officers have not identified a suspect.
