A woman was charged Thursday with the murder of her spouse in a weekend shooting in Creedmoor.
Kelly Marie Royster, 38, of Creedmoor, was arrested and charged with murder following an investigation, police said. She is being held without bond at the Granville County Detention Center.

Officers responded shortly after 4:15 p.m. Saturday to a reported shooting at a home on Irving Place. When they arrived, they found 27-year-old Charles Tryon Royster Jr. suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene despite lifesaving efforts.
Police identified Kelly Royster as the victim’s spouse.
The investigation remains active, and police said additional charges or arrests are possible.
