GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Historic flash floods in Nepal and Tibet have killed more than 300 people, and Nepalese Americans in Eastern Carolina are watching the disaster unfold from afar.
Multiple staff members at NC Spices in Greenville said they still have relatives in Nepal. While their family members are safe, they said they are praying for their home country’s recovery after the flooding.

Footage of the destruction has been shared widely online. The flash flooding has left more than 360 people dead and more than 1,000 others missing, including Americans, according to the report.
The U.S. Geological Survey said a glacial collapse led to deadly waves of water and mud in Nepal, Tibet, and China.
Anmol KC, a Nepalese American, said the footage from the disaster is devastating.
“During such difficult times, we must stand together and support all the families, help them financially, anything, small bits of everything,” KC said.
The USGS said the 5.2 magnitude seismic event happened near the Nepal-China border Wednesday morning around 8:30 local time.
KC said he has family still in Nepal, including his uncles and grandparents, and that they are safe.
The search for survivors continues. Of the more than 1,000 people missing, at least 700 are foreigners from several countries, including the United States.
