NC State forward Ven-Allen Lubin is back on the Wolfpack’s roster – for a second season in Raleigh and a fifth season in college basketball.
Lubin is part of a class of players who entered college in 2022 and had exhausted their four years of eligibility in 2025-26 that was granted an additional year by a federal judge in Colorado. Players sued because the NCAA approved new rules that will grant future classes a fifth year of eligibility. The NCAA is appealing the decision.

But Lubin is also part of a state lawsuit in Texas. Players in the case were granted a temporary restraining order that makes them eligible, even if the NCAA wins on appeal in the federal case.
Lubin, a 6-foot-9, 250-pound post player, played one season at Notre Dame, one at Vanderbilt and one at North Carolina before transferring to NC State for the 2025-26 season, where he started all 34 games. Lubin averaged 13.6 points and 7.1 rebounds for the Wolfpack.
Lubin announced his return to NC State on Saturday. He is now back on the team’s online roster.
Classes began at NC State on Monday. Lubin could be the final addition to the Wolfpack roster. NC State has 14 players listed on its roster.
