Carolina Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind’Amour is staying in Raleigh.
The Canes legend agreed to a multi-year contract extension with the team. Assistant coaches Jeff Daniels and Tim Gleason, video coach Chris Huffine and goaltending coach Paul Schonfelder have also agreed to multi-year extensions.

ESPN insider and former Carolina Hurricane Kevin Weekes first reported the contract extension on Saturday night. The Carolina Hurricanes confirmed the news Sunday afternoon.
On Monday, Brind'Amour addressed the media with team president and General Manager Don Waddell.
"It's hard for me to envision doing this anywhere else," Brind'Amour said. "That's really the bottom line of this."
The first order of business for the team was to lock Brind'Amour down after the season ended in the eastern conference semifinal just days before. Brind'Amour spoke with confidence about the team's direction and morale, despite a disappointing finish.
"We're knocking on the door," Brind'Amour said Monday. "I can tell you what, I'd rather be knocking on the door than be two houses down, which is where we were for a long time."
The Hurricanes face a summer of change with questions abound about who to bring back and where the roster stands heading into Brind'Amour's seventh season.
"What tweaks do we want to make? I don't really want to change a bunch of stuff," Brind'Amour said. "I don't know what we could change to be better. I believe in the way we do things and the best thing about it is the guys in there believe it."
"This year, we had a great year, we get to play the best team in the league and we're going toe-to-toe with them and yeah, can we do things better? Of course. Within that series, there are things that we didn't do. You can talk about the power play. Power play was great all year, it went for four games it stunk. Is that the difference? Well, not really. If you really break it down, there's a couple other things that were glaring to me that popped in. I don't think it had anything to do with how we're playing."
The Hurricanes hired Brind’Amour as head coach in 2018. Since taking over, Brind’Amour has led the Canes to six straight playoff appearances and two appearances in the conference finals.
The Canes were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Thursday after losing to the New York Rangers in six games in the second round.
Brind’Amour is 278-130-44 as head coach. Brind’Amour previously led the Hurricanes to the Stanley Cup as a player, defeating the Edmonton Oilers in seven games in 2006. He joined the team at during the 1999-2000 season and was instrumental in helping the Canes make a surprise run to the Stanley Cup final in 2002.
