Raleigh police said a man was shot as he drove on Milburnie Road early Saturday. He crashed his car into a tree in the 2400 block of Milburnie and died of his injuries.
In a call to 911, someone reported hearing the shots then the crash.

It is unclear whether the man was targeted or whether he was the victim of random shots fired.
Police have not released the man's name, nor do they have a suspect in the shooting. They are investigating the crime as a homicide.
