Industrial Drive is back open after a hazmat situation Tuesday in Zebulon that sent three people to the hospital.

According to authorities in Zebulon, two City of Raleigh utility workers were mowing grass near Braven Environmental on Industrial Drive when they noticed a "mysterious substance" in a ditch. After going to see what the substance was, the employees reported the material.

According to a spokesperson for the tow, they believe the substance was "non-hazardous cleaning materials."

In total, three City of Raleigh employees, including the two utility workers who noticed the substance, were taken to the hospital.

Authorities evacuated Eastern Wake Education Center and Braven Environmental as they continue their investigation.

The Zebulon Police Department said they do not believe there is a risk to the general public, adding that the material was not found outside Braven Environmental but several hundred yards down from Braven Environmental on Industrial Drive.

Hazmat crews placed down materials to clean the area and will continue testing at the site in a few days to confirm it's safe.
