Starting Monday, Sept. 8, the North Carolina Department of Transportation will close several roads and on-ramps on N.C. Highway 50 as part of a bridge replacement project.
The U.S. 70 West on-ramp, U.S. 70 West loop, Hilltop Avenue and Umstead Lane will be closed. Construction will begin at 9 a.m. and will continue through early November.
Detours for the U.S. 70 West on-ramp for Benson Road will continue northbound to West Garner Road. Drivers should turn left on West Garner Road then take Vandora Springs Road and follow detour signs to access U.S. 70 West.
The U.S. 70 off-ramp to N.C. 50 South will continue to Vandora Springs Road. Turn right on Vandora Springs then right on West Garner Road and follow detour signs to N.C. 50 South.
