Overturned tractor-trailer shuts down I-85 North near Durham, detour set up at US 15

A tractor-trailer crash shut down all lanes of I-85 North at Exit 202 (U.S. Highway 15) in Oxford Monday morning.

Just after 3 a.m., a State Highway Patrol (SHP) trooper said a car collided with a guardrail before a tractor-trailer crashed into the car and overturned. No one was inside the car when the tractor-trailer hit it.

The trooper said the SHP is investigating whether impairment caused the car to crash into the guardrail.

No charges are expected for the tractor-trailer driver, the SHP said.

There are no reported injuries, according to the SHP.

The road is expected to reopen by 10 a.m., according to the N.C. Department of Transportation.

As a detour, drivers should take Exit 202 then go left on US 15 North, right on US 158 East and continue to follow signs for I-85. Tune into WRAL News or 101.5FM for traffic updates.
