Baby safe after juvenile abducts 6-month-old from Durham apartment
This was a terrifying moment for a mother at this
Durham apartment complex
Her baby abducted at knife point in broad daylight
A mother and her six month old were outside their
apartment in Durham
When the unthinkable happened
A young woman approached them with a knife and took
that baby
It all unfolded at the encore at the park apartments
on Courtney Creek In South Durham
Police were on scene just after 7:40 this morning and
began searching the area
They found the baby in a nearby apartment and reunited
her with her mother

Police say the suspect in this case is a juvenile
She is in custody and has been transported to headquarters
for questioning
Police remained on scene for more than six hours after
the incident going in and out of an apartment
They're asking anyone with more information about this case to
come forward
Neighbors here did not want to go on camera but
tell me off camera they're just happy
