The government shutdown isn't just affecting DC it's affecting North

Carolina Central University

I interviewed Kimberly DeBerry the AmeriCorps Vista coordinator who's in

charge of the campus food pantry

After a while eventually um my position will go away

um because I work for the government with through AmeriCorps

and then um programs like the Food Bank of North

Carolina and Feeding America those fundings will start to Disappear

um and if people don't continue to donate to them

then the increase of donations will go down

Even without a paycheck Kimberly Dunberry is still showing up

to work proving that community means more than a paycheck
