Protesters gather outside Wake courtroom during challenge of 60,000 ballots

I want to say that directly after this that y'all
here I got here a little have heard that the
attorneys and impacted voters and people like the Cors campaign
And democracy and other groups that signed an amicus brief
on this case
We'll have a press conference right here
We'd love for you to stay and cheer and be
behind it but we'll get a report from the attorneys
and from the infected voters who are also a party
to this case
I also have bigger signs
And some uh and some markers
look forward to being with you all on this for
the long haul
We know the General Assembly is trying to cut early
voting already uh but this year we are in a
very different place than we were in years before
Uh we have power at the General Assembly that we
haven't had in a long time
And so we need to use it
Shame on us if we don't use it
So as soon as we make sure that democracy is
protected in the Supreme Court race we're headed back to
the General Assembly to make sure democracy is protected at
the people's house right pulled me aside and asked me
when I like we keep talking about planting the seed
What does that mean Anyone have any idea what we're
talking about when you say plant that seed All of
that
I know it seems strange because if someone shows up
at your door and knocks and you don't know them
are you emptying that door Probably not
I probably wouldn't be honest with you
But those conversations are impactful
Those conversations do do something
As much as you might think it wouldn't work on
me it's gonna work on others
I guarantee you because it's the only way it's ever
happened in this country
It's vital that you talk to your friends your neighbors
your Trump's appointing cousin
It does not matter
Anyone and everyone because each vote should count no matter
what a certain judge had to say about it
And again as someone said it's been a lot of
fun
Hopefully I haven't got some good laughs some smiles some
cheering out but this isn't everything
This doesn't change anything
Us being here today does not affect anything more than
our own moral compass
You have to actually do the work
You have to have these conversations
You have to reach out to others or it's all
not
We could have all just stayed home watching cartoons
We have to do it and there's not a lot
of time left
It seems like well Trump's only been in office for
like 3 weeks who knows The next election is already
underway
People are filing
People are already fundraising organizing and if you're not a
part of it your best beliefs
What you want to happen will not be involved
You have to talk to other people
And very importantly yes do not talk over people because
nothing will happen
Listen to what they have to say
You provide your best factual because one lie comes out
out of your mouth and they will never believe you
again
You have to have a conversation with them
Do not argue
Hey this is what you believe this is what I
believe and this is why and you want to believe
the heaven and earth you can move with that simple
formula
It all comes from within us
You have to do your part to see the change
you want to do
People in the 1940s 1950s 1960s didn't just sit at
home
That's right
And for everything that's happening right now no one has
such a dog on me
No one has pulled a hose on me
So this is still a lot easier than it could
have been
Do your part and I promise you you will be
amazed by the results
