WRAL meteorologists are tracking our next chance for snow and sleet, which could arrive as early as Wednesday evening.
This snow/sleet event will be less impactful than the snow we saw last weekend.

"This is a scenario where the cold air chases the moisture," WRAL meteorologist Aimee Wilmoth said. "These scenarios are usually minor events for our area."
Because there's light accumulation potential, the National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory from Wednesday evening through Thursday morning.
Minor event with limited snow totals
We could see some light accumulations of sleet and snow mainly along and north of Interstate 40 by Wednesday evening.
"The chance for 1 inch of snow is small, around 20% chance for Raleigh," Wilmoth said.
The best chance for 1 inch of snow is closer to the Virginia line.
While the snow/sleet in our area appears minimal, Wednesday is a WRAL Weather Alert Day due to potential road impacts to the Wednesday commutes and the Thursday early commute, especially in our northern counties.
"This isn't a bread and milk alert kind of event," WRAL meteorologist Chris Michaels said. "It's more of an inconvenience, but we're cutting it close to some of the evening commute."
Looking ahead - even more snow?
Beyond that, we'll be colder on Thursday, with highs struggling to reach 40 degrees.
A separate system may bring a few novelty flakes to the area while most are asleep Friday night, but we're not expecting anything to stick.
Super Bowl weekend is forecast to be cold and dry.
