Two students at Jordan High School are facing charges after Durham County Sheriff’s Office said a gun was found on campus.

Authorities said deputies were called around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday for reports of a student with a gun on the school's campus. The school was placed on lockdown while deputies investigated. The lockdown was lifted just after 4 p.m.

Around 3:20 p.m., WRAL's Sky 5 flew over the school on Tuesday as deputies investigated.

According to the Durham County Sheriff's Office, deputies have issued juvenile petitions for both students charging them with possession of a firearm on school property.

Deputies have not identified the two students involved. 

Jordan High School was on lockdown on April 22, but the order was lifted after authorities found no weapons.
