The Nepal Center of North Carolina held a meeting Thursday night to discuss ways of helping victims of the catastrophic flooding on the Nepal-Tibet border.
A frantic search is underway for more than 1,300 people missing after that catastrophic flooding swamped a China-Nepal border region Wednesday. Dozens of Americans are among the at least 700 foreigners unaccounted for.

WRAL spoke with the president of the Nepal Center, who said a way people can help is through donations.
"We will set up the donation link through Zelle, and they can donate there," said Dadin Pandey. "All the collected donation we can send to Nepal."
There will be information on how to donate on the organization's website.
When making donations to support Nepal, 5 On Your Side has some advice to make sure you avoid scams.
Authorities say scammers may create fake relief campaigns using copied government logos, fraudulent QR codes and social media pages. Some may also pose as victims or relatives who urgently need money.
Police said people should avoid sending money to personal bank accounts or e-wallets and confirm the recipient’s name before approving a QR-code payment. They also warn people never to share their PIN, card details or one-time password.
